I built a TARDIS bookcase because the real TARDIS is bigger on the inside and can take you to terrible and wondrous places.
Books are bigger on the inside too. Their pages transport you to new worlds of adventure to meet weird and wonderful characters.
Through books, you can live a thousand lifetimes.
Who wouldn't want to write a book?

WriterBy day, a children’s author wielding courage, kindness, and quirky charm. By night, a master of dark fantasy realms where gargoyles guard secrets, shadows whisper truths, and reluctant heroes rise. Whether taming a bell-wearing panther or mapping the streets of Haven, I craft worlds where bravery blooms and monsters—both inner and outer—are faced head-on.
I'm a puppeteer of plot, a sculptor of stone-hearted stakes, a champion for inclusion, and a builder of young dreamers and their darkly magical destinies. Add a pinch of horror, a touch of humour, and a whole lot of heart—that is my recipe for adventure. I love telling stories. One of those stories starts with "No, when I was in the Wiggles they already had a Jeff so I had to use my middle name..." There are still kids out there who believe I was once Eddie the Evil Wiggle, and was sacked from the show after some parents complained that there shouldn't be an evil Wiggle. |
IllustratorI have been drawing pictures for as long as I can remember. I drew and painted things that interested me. I still do but when I started writing, I began making sketches of the characters in my stories. That seemed to make them more real for me.
Back in the late 1990's I did some illustrations for a couple of small anthologies. In 2011 I decided to become more professional with my illustrating and produced the monthly covers for an on-line children's literature magazine. In 2012 I became an illustrator for IFWG Publishing after doing some freelance work for them. I illustrate children's books and produce cover art for speculative fiction books and magazines. One of my magazine cover illustrations was for SQMag (May edition) which won the 2014 Australian Shadow Awards. |
NerdFor as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by strange and fantastical things. My earliest memories are of watching shows like Doctor Who, Thunderbirds, Star Treck, The Twilight Zone, Night Stalker and sitting up late on Friday nights with my mother to watch the weekly creature feature movie.
That stuff must have infected my brain because I still like doing the same things. But now I also like to dress up, visit pop culture conventions and writers' festivals so I can meet the people who have added so much wonder to my life. |
